Patterns

Welcome to the SpringLeaf Studios pattern page.

I truly believe a great quilt doesn't have to be complicated to be stunning and beautiful. I also believe every quilter should find a way to make it their own even when they are using a pattern. That's why I include these three bonus features in my patterns.
  • A Design Lesson that explains the block, the quilt layout and how it works, and some tips on fabric selection.
  • Design Explorations so you can see how versatile the pattern really is. These include several alternative ways to use the pattern and showcase a variety of looks that can be achieved.
  • A Coloring Page so you can try out your own color scheme.
My patterns use simple, easy-to-sew techniques that don't require any intricate sewing or special tools and are suitable for anyone with a basic knowledge of quilt construction.

Patterns are available in my Etsy shop.

                                         Arboretum

Here's a link to my Arboretum quilt post. It's not a pattern written up for sale. Instead, it's blog post that includes basic directions for making the block. Since Arboretum is being sold as a fabric kit by All About Color, I'm adding the post here for easier access. If you make an Arboretum quilt, I'd love to see it. Use @springleafstudios if you post it on Instagram so I'll be sure to see it. Also please mention Springleaf Studios wherever else you might post it. Thanks. Enjoy.

  1. I'm now following you via Bloglovin. I saw a picture of "Cascade" somewhere (I can't remember where) and said '"OHH" out loud because it was so beautiful. It's nice to visit your blog and get acquainted with the creator!

  6. Last border going on my Facet wall hanging. I will be using a black binding but want to put the small splash of color around my last border as shown in picture. Do I assume I do the small splash of color border separate from the binding. Correct?

    1. Hi JJ. You seem to be a no-reply commenter so I'm not sure you ever saw my email response. If you are referring to the little splashes of color that are interspersed all around the quilt, then yes, they are part of each 'border' in the quilt and separate from the binding. Although you could certainly place a bit of color within your binding if you choose. It's your quilt. Make it your way.

  8. Just starting quilting. Really wanted to design my own but I really don't have enough experience to understand it yet. Bought your Matrix quilt design, because I liked it and find it will give me scope to add my own ideas to it. I think I may use this pattern quite a lot, thank you , it was what I needed to get going.

  9. I love your quilts! I ran across them while searching for a pattern or ideas for doing a quilt for my brother who hikes 5-6 miles daily in my hometown. I love the Urban Quilt and will try to make something similar. Do you have fabric amounts, block sizes available for this? Thank you.
